In one of the most characteristic neighborhoods of Milan – just steps away from the historic 5Vie district – lies the apartment at the heart of a restyling project that blends vintage-inspired furniture with contemporary pieces in vibrant pop colors. The project was led by the architects and designers of Nori Studio, a Milan-based design studio headed by Jacopo Nori, who is also the homeowner in this case.
“The goal is to reinterpret formal elements and features of the past, inspired by the great masters of Milanese architecture, with a modern perspective,” the studio explains. “For this reason, the design process examines architectural objects of all scales and types.”
The result is an apartment in Milan that showcases a rich tapestry of styles and eras, celebrating the best of Italian-made furniture. Among the standout pieces are the iconic Camaleonda sofa, designed in 1970 by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, which in its modern re-edition still embodies the elements that made it a symbol of the Blob Sofa trend. Other notable items include the Tetris table by De Padova, the large Traxacum 2 lamp by Achille Castiglioni for Flos, and chairs designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, among many others. But let’s start from the beginning.
