Alba will be the “Italian Capital of Contemporary Art” 2027

24 October 2025

The city of Alba (CN) has been unanimously selected by the Ministry of Culture’s jury to take on the role of “Italian Capital of Contemporary Art” for the year 2027.

The winning project, titled “Le fabbriche del vento” (“The Wind Factories”), stands out for the high quality of its cultural program and its strong focus on territorial regeneration, artistic innovation, and broad public engagement.

The initiative aims to elevate a so-called “minor” city, transforming its territory into a creative laboratory through exhibitions, installations, urban interventions, and educational programs closely connected to local communities.

The jury highlighted how Alba’s proposal combines a concrete operational plan, a solid network of public-private partnerships, and a long-term strategic vision — elements that proved decisive for the selection.

For Marcarino Arredamenti — active in the world of furniture, design, and interior enhancement — this represents an important signal: contemporary art and the regeneration of urban spaces reaffirm the strategic value of interior design and furnishings as cultural tools that can help transform a territory.
